Golden Bay Galapagos is situated in privileged location on the Playa de Oro (Golden Beach) on San Cristobal Island, directly in front of the sea, where sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and other animal citizens of Galapagos are seen. We are the only hotel on the island registered and approved by Ecuador’s Ministry of Tourism and awarded five stars.

We are located less than ten minutes from the archipelago’s best airport, with daily flights from Quito and Guayaquil. Furthermore, San Cristobal is well connected with the other islands, by flight and by sea, for those who wish stress-free interisland travel.

We offer 21 rooms which permit our guests the possibility to feel themselves a part of the earthly paradise in a magical environment and in high standards of quality while inside the planet’s most famous national park.

Our style is based on the concept of “Luxury without Ostentation.” We create an environment of absolute comfort under international standards of hygiene and presentation, uniting a familiar amiability with “galapagueña” soul. The experience we offer is unique to the smallest details, from our artisan breakfast to our cocktail garnishes made from seasonal island flowers, herbs, and fruits.

MUYU is our restaurant, a pioneer project of restoration in Galapagos, always “evolving.” Its mission is to bring a real Galapagos experience to your plate, using the best seasonal organic products from the farm, forest, and sea with tropical esthetic.

About us

Mission:

With the commitment to create a new hospitality and restaurant model based on conservation, sustainability, and human ethics, we work to elevate the quality of the touristic offering in the Galapagos Islands as well as the economic development of its inhabitants.

Vision:

To be recognized as the best ecological boutique hotel in the Galapagos Islands, offering top quality hotel and restaurant services, seeking the full satisfaction and long-term loyalty of our guests, Ecuadorians as well as foreign visitors.

Philosophy and Values:

Sustainability and conservation: the promotion of the environmentally responsible touristic activity of the reception zones means to work under the ecological principles that reduce the negative impacts of human activity to assure the survival of the unique environment of the Galapagos Islands, as well as our own business as such.

Ethics and humanism: continued growth and innovation cannot put aside human principles and mutual respect without considering culture, race, religion, and gender: this is rudimentary. The bases of our constant evolution are the free exchange of information and knowledge, as well as the work hour under the instruction of trainers, incentivizing the professional growth of our collaborators.

High standards of quality: the long-term sustainability of a business from our point of view correlates with our challenge to maintain the greatest attention to detail in services and products, and to progressively improve each day. Our luxury is centered on this point: we don’t seek ostentation.

Location

Golden Bay Galapagos is located beachfront in a privileged location with a spectacular view of the bay that surrounds Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the administrative and political capital of the Galapagos Islands in the extreme southwest of the island of San Cristobal.

We are located less than a five-minute walk from the city center and its tourist pier, and less than ten minutes from the airport.

One of the principle attractions of the hotel is its direct access to Playa de Oro (Golden Beach), a beach frequented by sealions, endemic iguanas, and birds such as the blue-footed booby and the frigate bird. Golden Bay Galapagos brings the magic and the singularity of the Galapagos Archipelago to your door.

San Cristobal is one of the five largest islands of the Galapagos Archipelago, and geographically speaking, one of the oldest. It is the only one possessing fresh water and also one of the oldest human settlements of the islands with a stable population since the second half of the nineteenth century.
